I’m very pleased with the PRM-30 so far.

I’ve shot several of the Misfits semi autos at HHC including the WMR and 5.7’s. The .22 WMR is really hyped up and barks loudly for the 200 fps boost you get over the 40 gr. .22 LR High-Velocity. I bought a box of Hornady 45 gr. Critical Defense (fancy) and another of CCI 40 gr. GamePoints. Velocity ran an average of 1225 and 1295 fps respectively. Down about 600 fps from full rifle performance. I note about 100 fps less than my last Single-six as well. Must be the delayed blow-back action.

Right from the box no hiccups at all. It seemed to like the 40 gr. better shooting a bit tighter group and the point of impact was about an inch higher too where I like it. I never noted the rear sight is non-adjustable. But it hits right at six (+1”) using a 6-O’clock hold. It fits Gary’s slide holster perfectly right tight against the body tucked in, so light you’d forget you had it. Even with the two 30-end loaded mags. A light does not add much for a house gun.

I’ll be doing like Jim this weekend doing some garage expansion bullet testing.

I like the hi-viz old man sights. You can mount a red dot but the sights are so good, why bulk iit up?

The one my old man has is very accurate

All the wayvout to like 85 yds with iron sights but its only reliable with 1 brand of ammo. As is with most 22mag pistols

Does he still have the Rock-Island .22 WMR?

I remember it looked like a 1911 but a cut away slide. He prissed it up really nice.

The Kel-tec has a strange working system. The recoil spring is a captive multi-spring progressive thing. Barrel and slide recoil together a short distance, and there is a buffer involved so it is slamming something in there. The manual warns against shooting without a buffer. I figure it's a wear point too. Ejection is pretty violent.

While shooting the fire belching 40 gr. CCI I could feel a bit of gas blow. The pointy 30 gr. stuff is noted as possibly not reliable in the manual too. Andy had some issues with the tips dragging in the magazines.

The SIG and Walther look interesting for .22 WMR but they are even bigger than the PMR-30. It's very light, and thin, but not a small gun. Still, everyone that examines it thinks it would be a nice trail gun.

I remember Bob Denning, on his 70 mile solo hike, took one. Plus a huge Reeder .500! He actually left the .22 on the trail someplace to shed weight?! Kept the Reeder obviously. It was a heck of a story. I figured he DID go back and get the Kel-tec. I need to ask him.

I have the pressed up RIA.
