. . . still writes for BWH under the pen name O.E MacDougal.
He does great stuff.
Mas Ayoob also does articles for that magazine.
I had no idea Ayoob wrote for them.

He has a strong presence via video clips on YouTube, Instagram etc. I always liked his writing and thought it made sense. I was around some tactical contractors in Georgia once and mentioned his name. They went nuts. For some reason, at least in that circle, he is not popular. They claimed to have personally trained and shot with him. I figured it just a clash of egos, with all the beards and black t-shirts, camo pants. Just brace yourself in mixed company dropping subjective names! I learn some things the hard way. I enjoy his hakes on court cases and legal considerations.
Latest issue Oct/Nov/Dec . . .

. . . he goes rather deeply into ammo and gun selection. Good thoughts for consideration.

. . . The Role of the Firearm in Personal Protection, which is considered a classic by many. When I was still instructing, I gave out copies of it. It's a little dated now, but still worth a read.

against him. He doesn't have anything nice to say about him.
That only intrigues me more…

If I ever get to meet him I’ll ask him; “why do so many guys think you’re an asshole?!” lol, that should be interesting at least.
Mass is an odd duck. I’ve trained with him three times. I

I did the LFI 1,2 and 3 courses. He has an ego and his approach is always like a learned uncle. He has an acerbic wit is a bit more dramatic than I’m comfortable with but so aren’t many of my friends, family and colleagues. I thought his courses were really interesting and provocative . Not for the tackicool bunch though, kinda like old retired cop with the eye roll. I liked him. He was patient and helpful. Quite a few guys there were wealthy professional types with mega custom guns and gear, no real shooting skill, just a lot of preening. He was patient with them as they described what they’d do when the world ended. BTW,, I was 20 and poor. I used a well shot 1911, no customizing and an Ithaca deer slayer for the shotgun course. Did more than just fine and my kit didn’t malfunction…unlike many others in each course.
Practical I instruction without all the swat hormones. I thought the time and money were well spent. His personality was odd but, so what….
Sounds like the wedding vows from my first marriage...
