A number of magazines are now going to a full digital format.
As a related note, this will have an impact on central and northern Maine. There were a large number of paper mills in the Pine Tree state. But due to low sales for newspapers and other print, the papermills have been shutting down. Right now there are only six left in the whole state.
A generation or two ago many of these mills supported the entire town.
North of my cabin there is the town of Millinocket. It WAS a paper/pulp mill town and gateway to the North Maine Woods. I believe the last pulp mill shut down about ten years ago and with that the good jobs available to people in "the County".
