predicting a wet or dry winter. Being from Tennessee I hear all these predictions. My grandmother used to tell me to bring her the first couple of squirrels I shot when the season opened. She said to look at the squirrel's balls. If there was real heavy fur around his balls it was going to be a long colt winter. It his balls only had light sparse hair on them it was going to be a warm winter. If the squirrel didn't have any balls at all it was probably a female.
