My woods experience at HHC 2019.

Roman and I hiked with guns to an area some locals call “Hog Mountain” or perhaps that’s just what they tell visitors to get them excited. Actually it is a real hot spot if you can manage the considerable half-mile hike up the hillside. At the top is a huge rock formation dead atop that is exposed and fun to explore. I like to visit it each time I’m there. I usually eat an apple and make a few calls. Its high enough that my ATT cell service actually works, it does not at the Lodge.

I had my .378 GNR FA2008 and Roman had a Tokarev on his hip just to have something. Not that the 86 gr. 30 cal. pill at 1550 fps would stop a hog charge, it would make quite a racket. Our freezer is full and we have shot lots of hogs. There were some nice shooter boars in this bunch. We were setting just below the rock formation at a nice fiberglass blind that had some comfortable chairs available. We pulled them out and enjoyed the woods. These critters came up and gave us a show as well as a very old and tired Ram. Poor old man needed a bullet to get him some hard earned rest. He really looked miserable and like a dead man walking. He had a bit of a limp, for some reason I suspected a bow shooter might have clipped him some time ago, it was just a feeling I had.

The video was actually made while I was talking to my wife on the other phone. She was concerned with all the squealing. I had a mean streak thought and told Roman we should have begun hollering “Her He comes, look out! Bang!, bang!…. Hoo-wee…bang!” She would have laid an egg and forbade us from going again. Lol. Roman and I had a good laugh at the thought though, discretion thankfully withheld the impulse.
