by having basically two types of ammo for it all bases are covered nicely. I'd figure on having it at arms reach the entire time. A back up rifle I'd like is a .338 Winchester of some sort. For a small game rifle I'd want my .30-06, which may sound strange. But it can about do it all using superior quality 180 gr. ammo, and some 220 gr. for emergencies. As African Game is known tough, due to ages of survival of the fittest, I do not see it as overkill.
I'd figure on using gun #1 for all, literally. Then progress on to #2, and finally #3, if needed.
1. BRNO Mauser in .416 Rigby
2. Bolt, maybe Ruger No.1 in .338 Win.
