I'll tell you one thing; Gary is right. Passing our hunting heritage down to the next generation is way up there in the rewards of this earthly life. Seeing your sons and only nephew hunting together is an incredible thing. The fact that they were successful is just a bonus. Seeing them work together to stalk, hold tight when one took a shot, and hauling their harvest out of the field was awesome. Thank you Gary for making this way more than just a hunting trip. Having the opportunity to let my boys be in the company of real men of character builds them up for the future they face. It's more than I can put into words. Thank you to all the men in attendance, you are mentors in ways you are not even aware. The lessons they learn are more valuable than any school. Andy, thanks for your fine example of manhood and kind company. Larry, thanks for being there, the youngsters think the world of you, your stories are legendary in our tribe. Scotty, thanks for your generosity at the range. Additionally, you are raising an amazing young man. Roman is an outstanding young man; kind, considerate, respectful, and a joy to be around, you must be proud. Tracy, glad to have met you, was a great afternoon at the range and thanks for the "leftovers"! Well, I've rambled on enough. If you have not been to the Wilderness Lodge for a Reeder gathering I can only ask what are you waiting for?

How this gathering, however fragile, is taking on its own presence. Roman just about had a fit at the question of attendance! It means a lot to him. It’s the release from other worldly duties and concerns, interaction with both old and new friends in a now familiar place. I see that with just a little effort the HHC can perpetuate a good while longer. The young crew gives us hope. Plus their zeal exists far beyond just the HHC. I really enjoyed watching the boys interact, help each other, and share their own stories.

It’s great to see pics of all the kids getting so grown up!

Thanks for the kind words. Thanks for including me with your family. Joe was a panick. Great spending time with you,. Those boys didn't become the way they are by accident. You and your wife are doing a great job. Please tell Joe the same.

bride of 51 years at Pigeon Forge TN. Wonderful woman that has put up with all the separation, injuries etc. that I went though with her in my life. First task was to check the Forum. I really enjoyed being with these young men and think their dad will be a role model that would be hard for another to live up to. My son in law wants to go next year so it looks like I am locked in for next year as well. I might even talk my grandson into coming if he can get away from school. Maybe even my Son will come again. Anyway, it was great to see everyone if the Good Lord is willing, I will see you all next year!
