Reeder Custom Guns - Got the S&W 48 fixed up for Squirrel/Rabbit Season...

Like Jim, Scotty and a few others, I like to pittle with small gun projects to stay out of trouble.

Slicked up the action a bit, springs, grips, etc. Think it came out pretty good...

Like the cottontails back in Tennessee the cottontails and Jacks here will run when jumped and usually run in a slow circle coming up behind us to give us a good shot at them. I have a scope on my model 48 which sometimes isn't the best way to go. But for squirrels way up in the top of a Ponderosa pine it works very well.

Game animals if you eat them. We can kill them year around as pests, but not eat them.

I don't eat them myself. But, when I harvest them, I give the meat to elderly in the community that aren't able to hunt any more.

Some of them grew up on wild game and still enjoy it. Mom will cook and deliver it to the old folks. She's only 79, so not a problem.

the Lord ever made. I think the squirrel is. But I like rabbit too, and don’t think of grabbing her last squirrel leg either!

are becoming more scarce.

I see squirrels and rabbits in residential places where you cannot discharge a firearm. In places you can hunt they seem to be few and far between.

One culprit I believe are the increased number of predators.

I WENT WITH IRON FIRST ON A MARLIN .41 MAGNUM THEN MY FRIEND, WHO ALWAYS GOES WITH ME, MOUNTED THE SCOPE FOR ME. HE IS A RETIRED ENGINEER VERY METICULOUS AND THINKS CAREFULLY ABOUT EVERYTHING HE DOES. HE HANDED ME THE MARLIN AND I SAID "WE HAVE A PROBLEM""WHAT?" THE SCOPE WAS TURNED 90 DEGREES. IT HAPPENS TO ALL OF US AND MORE SO AS WE AGE!!!

bore sighting and quite often guns in that the owner says can't be sighted in, no matter what ammo he uses. In most cases the adjustment turrets are 90 degrees off. The up/down is the left/right and vice versa. The owners always let us know their son, daughter, wife or uncle put it on, never them. It is also not unusual to get revolvers in with the scopes backwards. None of us are perfect.
