this hot load I had worked up in one of Gary's customs on a Blackhawk chassis in .32-20. We used a 120 gr. FPGC and I forget the powder, maybe Lil'gun or 680. That slick little pill screamed out of that rifle at some 2100 fps! I was shocked. Not far at all from a full sized .30-30 carbine and factory ammo. Considering the powder and cartridge size it was impressive.

I've always wanted to play with the .32-40 also. Ever since that John Wayne commemorative came out. Is it basically the earlier version of the .32 Win. Special?

CHAMBERED IN THE 1894 ORIGINALLY. THE OTHER WAS .38-55. BOTH BP. THE FIRST SMOKELESS, THE .30-30 ARRIVED IN 1895.

That they build 501 of. Serial #1 went to the SASS to auction off if I remember right.

Loving the small rounds have the 1894s in 218 Bee, 25-20 and 32-20. All are still useful rounds today.

in my Marlin CL. It worked quite well on any critters shot with it including some fairly big stuff.

John Wayne Commemorative rifles in 32-40 but half the time we couldn't get the ammo, so we quit carrying it. The most popular of the commemorative rifles was the one named after an Indian, Geronimo, Tonto, Two Dogs Humping, Sasquatch, one of them. It had the studs in the stock and the ammo had a silver nickel case. Everybody liked them and they were not set aside in a safe. The good ol' boys shot them. They didn't care about collector's items.
