I've had frun shooting those .25 Herrett load forming
I only loaded a dozen or so grs. 4227 for the 80 gr. cast bullet. Probably 1600-1800 fps. Too dim and misty for chronographing. I had fun ringing steel and actually sighting and adjusting the scope based upon platter marks. The scope is an old dandy. A 30mm Tasco 3X World Class with etched glass reticle. They have great optics and bring stupid money these days, compared to new back then.
It will make a fine Arkansas varmint rig.

That gun will smoke the 75 grn V-Max bullets....
I'll send you some to try soon. Slowly getting some stuff sorted out.
I found some 75 gr. Hornady HP but
my powders are all round that I have on hand. 4227, 1680, LilGun, Reloader 15, BLC-2 etc. I may have to get some more 3031 or such. May try to work up a load using what I have. Rainy now so I can't check speeds.
This is interesting....
I like BLC2 and Reloader 12 in the .256 Falcon. The .25 Classic is about 2/3 of the falcon with more gentile curves. I also have the .240 Raptor based upon the maximized .204 Ruger case. Lots of data with it too.
I tested and found the formed .25 Classic and .240 Raptor have about the same total capacity to the brim. After I form the remainder of my brass I have made I think I may work up some loads with these slower rifle powders. Surely I can keep out of trouble.
