How is the deer and hog population
On the island now? Used to be incredible. Got alot of points built up. Had a couple of the best public land hunts ever there. Then got really tough. Haven't been in probably 10 years. Must be getting better.

Largest pigs I saw running around where 25-45 pounds. A few guys got some but it was the first time in 4 trips I didn’t get a pig. This is the first rifle hunt of the year and I seeing lots of shooters. The deer are getting a Lot bigger. Every year or so there is a new record for the island. As the pig population drops the deer get bigger. Saw 7 or 8 deer today and one guy got a really nice 8point for this island today. If you got points use them here
Go for a early season hunt or hunt the north end of the island like sections 60-66.
