Years ago Belding and Mull made an aluminum shooter’s rest with a tubular aluminum tripod with cast aluminum adjustable legs. The tubular shaft had a cast aluminum adjustable rest. I have used mine for hunting ground hogs for years. It was very stable for prone, sitting and kneeling. I used it with my 14” Contender .222 and my Browning Model 78s in 6mm and .22-250. IThe Belding and Mull rest was very light, stable and easy to carry.. Too bad they aren’t longer made. I bought mine 40 years ago- damn I’m old.
