not sure this makes any sense. A customer called

and said he split the barrel forcing cone on his GP-100 in 44 Special. I asked him what load was he using as normally only a really hot load will split the forcing cone. He said he was using some "Skeeter" loads that were shown in one of Skeeter's articles. I told him to compare those loads with loads in a loading manual. He called back and said the "Skeeter" loads were considerably hotter. I told him to stick with listed loads in loading manuals when he gets his GP-100 back from Ruger.

This has no bearing on things unless you have been using some of the listed loads from Skeeter Skelton and is just a cautionary note. If you have been using 44 special loads from him, you might check them against load data in the loading manuals. I am totally ignorant of any of his loads as I don't remember ever even reading any of his articles. I am a handgun hunter so Skelton's articles didn't interest me in the least. Nothing against him at all, just not my cup of tea.
