If anyone has a Lyman/Ideal 452423 they'd like to swap

for a 452424 (255 gr. SWC), I have a double cavity that appears unused.

Keith tried to instill all the successful attributes of the SWC designs he and Thompson had done into a design short enough to work in the .45 ACP magazine. That is what the 452423 is, I think around 238 grs. They sometimes refer to it as the Auto Rim bullet. Lyman screwed around with the bands and shape of the groove bottoms, enough for Keith to chew his hat, but I don't think it matters much in the real world 60+ years after the fact.

It fixes all the issues GNR had with penetration on that Bear a while back. An instant 100 fps gift for cast, and a nice big .45 clean cut hole! It's a bit dicey for anti-personnel, unless you like to stack them about three deep. Pull a Sean and do a three for one!

I found a cool picture comparing it in one mould, the .429 classic and shorter(.45)452423. I also found an old fun article by a true zealot worth the read.
