This was in the early 1980's I think. I think he made less than a dozen, replicated a factory effort perfectly, to the letter. Really quality work. Maybe Taffin heard of the event.

I agree the Python was too weak for the .41. The frame and forcing cone area are good enough for the .357 but the lockwork, and mainly at that level of hand tuning is way overtaxed for the pounding.

It was a cool footnote in my collecting I thought worth sharing.
