WHAT...Heavy snow and blowing snow expected. Travel will be
very difficult to impossible. Tree branches could fall as well.
Total snow accumulations of 2 to 8 inches from 4500 to 6000
feet, with 10 to 24 inches above 6000 feet. Localized amounts up
to 40 inches

And usually if they say 24" we get 30" here in Flag at 7200 feet and at my house at 8000 feet we get 40" or better.
And this is one of the biggest travel days of the year, plus we have almost 10,000 elk tags for the whole state this weekend and they figure 2000 to 3000 elk hunters will be here this weekend, and most of them will be from out of town and not used to driving in a blizzard, so it is going to be a crazy weekend, starting tonight.

Sounds like great fun....take care and stay warm!

and are trying to decide whether to try it or not.I told them if they leave this evening they can probably get there before the brunt of the storm hits, but they might have to stay there for a week before the roads get opened and cleared off. And a week with their in laws didn't thrill them at all. They will probably stay up here.

Here too. Supposed to get down to 51° tonight...
