I'd personally not consider his work rock, more pop. I have always liked him, he has a very smooth voice. I hear he's not doing so hot health wise, he's getting old like the rest of us.
I remember back around 1971-72 Bobby Goldsboro came out with "Watching Scotty Grow". Gosh, they played it all the time, I HATED it. He has sort of a falsetto voice I don't really like. LOL
