TK Moon Clips and 10mm Double Actions...

Posted a couple weeks ago about long seating bullets in my GP-100 10MM. The gun is extremely accurate, far out grouping my 327 Federal and 44 Special GPs.

For more flexibility I ordered 10 TK Moon Clips before continuing load development. They are available in different thicknesses for correct headspace on varying revolvers.

The mention on rechambering to 10mm Magnum made me consider this option on a 10mm Super Redhawk instead. Would easily allow 40 S&W, 10mm Auto and 10mm Magnum to be used in one gun. The long cylinder of the SRH would allow long seating of 10mm Magnum ammo as well.

Opinions?

I need to drag mine out and shoot it.

I had this other guy re-bore and rechamber a stock 6” GP100 .357 to 10mm. He did good work, took a couple years. It pretty much looks like a stock gun but the holes. I didn’t spring the extra for an action job, it didn’t need it. The clips he provided came from Brownells, whomever made them for them. Never measured them.

I can do the chambering myself but I really have it been motivated. Fun idea.

I probably do need to buy more clips. My gun you can shoot 10mm with no clips but you eject empties with a pencil. FWIW.

Mine is the 5" Half Lug Blued GP-100...

Also shoots 10mm w/o clips. But, figure they'll be handy with my hair brained experiments.

Longshot Powder really makes the 10mm shine. Like the 180 or 200 grn GT Hollow Points best.

Agreed, best overall for efficiency and performance!

I like AA#7 as a second to Longshot.

Not sure. But TK is about an hour north of me.

They did an action job for me on my 625 and I got to see some of their EDM setups they use to make the clips. Nice guys. Weird thing is that Altamont's grip factory is about 1/8 mi farther north from them in a little town of 1100.

I'll have a learning curve on this stuff, but...

Can post and shortcut others. The 401 PowderMag still has a following. The 10mm Magnum is nothing more than a rimless PowerMag. This will be an easy solution for those wanting a hot 10mm.
