So, I'll try it out today. I know it shoots great with 10mm ammo. But, want to see how the shorter cased 40 S&W does at the bench.

Think the gun came out pretty good. Slicked up the action, put in Wolff Springs and slapped on some eBay grips.

I'm sure the .40 will work fine. Mine does

the shorter cases actually manage better chambering. It shoots the same, which is great. I can't explain but my Ruger .357 shoots 9mm just fine in that different cylinder, what a bullet jump! Under size yet.

My .357 Maximum factory TC barrel was total crap with .38 Specials, ditto my .45/.410 and .45 Colt. However I rechambered a regular .357 tube to Maximum, with a corrected throat, and it is a one-holer with .38 Specials. Not sure of the dynamics in play, but that is fact.

I find longer cases in revolver "clips" are more glitchy than shorter ones. Something to do with the leverage of longer cartridges and wobble. I have wanted to rent a reamer and hog mine to 10mm Magnum (1.25" cases) but I just can't seem to get it done. I have more powerful wheelguns if I need power. This is a mid-size frame so I really don't need to over tax it anyway. A 200 gr. at 1300-1400 fps seems plenty for now.

Scotty, I'm in agreement with that in the GP100...

But, not a bad thought for the new 10mm Super Redhawk.

Being able to seat bullets out in both guns will be advantageous.

The GT 200 grn HP Bullets at 1300 fps seems ideal in the GP100. Bet 1600 fps possible in a SRH 10mm Magnum.

In the GP those long seat 10mm are an easy fix

That is what's held me back, another bunch of brass to keep track of etc. I load long seat .40 to 10mm OAL all the time but have never done the 10mm. It's a no brainer.

More can be done with a

Straight walled rimmed case in a wheel gun without all that mumbo jumbo. Leave all those to the Semi auto guys.

It does look good.
