in the thread about camo i mentioned that I sit in front

of a Juniper bush. A couple of Misfits e-mailed me asking what that was. The areas we hunt here are either thick woods, mostly Pondorosa Pines, or rolling fields with Juniper bushes. In the pics below these are the areas we hunt rabbits, coyotes and such. When the snow is fairly deep I sit with my back against the juniper bushes so I am not silhouetted. I have had deer and rabbits come to within 5 feet of me and coyotes within 25 feet of me before they spotted me, and then just because I moved a bit. Also as Jim Taylor mentioned never look them in the eye. They seem to sense you if you do.

In the winter we walk the fields and kick the dead bushes like these and roust the rabbits out, both cottontail and Jack Rabbits. The next picture down is a professional picture but the areas i hunt are exactly like this.

We are getting quite a few Javelina up here the last few years. The last 2 I shot were in an area like the picture up at the top and they were eating on the cactus like those in the middle of the picture. Not real sure how they live in the cold as they don't have any fur, just the prickly covering on their body.
