shop was in Florida. It came in several calibers. I would have to see some good pictures of the gun to be able to tell you more. As far as when it was made and who it went to I have no way of telling you that. When we moved out here all previous paperwork had to be boxed up and sent to an ATF warehouse in West Virginia where it sits today. Also unless the gun was one built on our own frame from scratch, we are not required by law to keep any info on the gun, as it is listed simply as "repair work". On guns that are built on our own frames we are required to keep basic info on them but that info is the caliber, to what FFL it was sent and the date, nothing more. But if you have some good pictures of the gun I can probably tell you a bit more about it.

that help?
I would just be interested to understand what you may have done to it. the trigger is very nice and light touch.
If a picture or two will help, I will figure out how to load some. When did you move your shop to AZ from FL?
no, the serial number doesn't help at all. As I

mentioned all our paperwork had to be boxed up and sent to an ATF warehouse. Anytime an FFL moves and a new FFL is issued the old paperwork has to be boxed up and sent to a warehouse in West Virginia and we have no way to go thru it and check serial numbers etc. So the serial number doesn't help at all.
we moved here in January of '94. The Kodiak Magnum

was one of our series from '87 to '93. We had a couple on order when we moved here so a few of them were finished after we moved here and would have the Arizona address on them.

and anything else that is on the gun. For sure that is a Florida gun. We became a licensed manufacturer in early '95 so anything after that had to have just our logo on it if it was one of our custom guns. If I put Kodiak Hunter or Kodiak Magnum on it I had to take S&Ws name off it by law. That was called Co-branding and is a no no. The Florida guns had one of the 2 Kodiak logos on them, the Magnum or the Hunter and had an action job, plus a satin Vapor Honed finish with high polished small parts and usually had nice finger groove walnut grips. It looks like the grips either have been changed or the customer asked for the rubber Hogue grips.

Trying to load a picture of your script, but it is too big. have to resize it to load. "Gary Reeder" in script on top of "Kodiak magnum". "Smith and Wesson" on the barrel to the right of your script. This on gun's left side barrel. Same script on gun's right side barrel with S.&W. 357 Magnum on the barrel to the right of your script.
as I mentioned all but a couple of the Kodiak Magnums

were made in Florida at our shop there. That gun would be one of them. It would have sold at that time, gun included, at $995.

Thank you Gary.........
It is still in great shape and one of my favorites. Nice to know the value back then as well.
I really appreciate your responses, I now know more about it than I have since I bought it 20 some odd years ago.
