Reeder Custom Guns - another new one from Ruger, their Super GP-100

chambered in 9mm, which is surprising. They are using the Dan Wesson style shrouded barrel. S&W has been using this same shrouded barrel system a lot lately too.It is good to see Ruger being willing to try something new. Not really sure what group of shooters Ruger is aiming this new revolver at.

years ago. The barrel being inside the shroud allows you to keep a tighter barrel/cylinder gap, and supposedly with it being tightened up front and rear it keeps the barrel expansion to a minimum. We used to do a lot of custom Dan Wessons by building our own barrel and putting it inside the factory shroud.

I also used that design for that special S&W M-629 of mine in 410 GNR. new 5 shot cylinder and a new inner barrel with the factory shroud. The muzzle brake is the nut to hold the shroud on.
