The k-hornet specifically is around 1000 fps faster and costs the same to load. That little 5.7 was to poke holes and not much else. The guns are blow back (military type) so you can’t load them up or down, just modulate bullet weight.

HK makes that little model 7, centerfire equivalent of a .17HMR that the Secret Service uses. Sure it runs 1000 rpm and holds lots of bullets but they are so tiny! I guess I’m just not tactically inclined.

But I’ll play with about anything.

The Rock Island TCM22 may have similar ballistics but their offerings do not share a magazine.

I picked up a Kel Tec CMR30 to acompany my PMR30 and the shared mags and mostly steel carbine really compliment the pistol. Ramps up the fun factor a bit while having 120 rounds (4 mags) to run through the the little terrors.

to have one of the new Ruger 57 to play with. I've just always bemoaned the short magazine in the 77/22Hornet, ( which mine was made to a 22 K E Hornet.) When loading the Nosler Ballistic tip bullets or the Hornady V max, They were too long for the magazine and had to be singly loaded. Not all bad, but was somewhat annoying at times.
The little 5.7 is pretty close to the same capacity as the original Hornet. Yet in that little of case, a small change in capacity does make a big difference, yet it would be neat as for the aforementioned ability to use the "pointy" bullets.
I believe that is the reason Hornady shortened the 17 Hornet when they introduced their 17 Hornady Hornet, to fit the mag properly. I've shot several of the 17 H-Hornet and it's a dandy little cartridge. Great for small vermin around the farm.
