5.7 Ruger

I see that Ruger is producing a 5.7 cal x28 for less than 1000 dollars. I find that interesting as I have recently read of a European gun company building the same for multi thousands of dollars. Any one else notice this? Now as an old timer, I have a hankering for a broom handle Mauser, which I used to see in newsreels of the Eighth Route Army, and Greeks vs Turks in WWI. Especially with a wood stock/holster. wouldn't that be a suitable cartridge for the broom handle Mauser or its clone?
