Very nice little gun. Well made as expected from Ruger.

I've got the 380 version and it's great.

Gary said they were selling well and I can sure see why.

Huey, size comparison!

Ruger LCP 380 or Beretta 21A. Thanks Pete.

Not familiar with the Beretta...

I rarely deal with these little guns. I just like my 380 LCP so much that I couldn't pass up the opportunity with the new 22 LR.

Bet Gary or Colleen could answer that...

Thanks Huey!

from what I read. The Beretta is an odd one, super FAT. I never saw a reason for it myself. I had a .22 and .25, no extractor either, even on the old 950's. It's 0.35" wider than a Ruger .380. But otherwise about the same size. The .380 is an ounce lighter than the Beretta.

I want one of those Ruger .22's. Two kids in college and putting two metal roofs on houses I have to pull back on personal toys.

I like the Rugers because they're thin...

You can stick them in your jeans pocket working in the woods.

the Beretta 21 and 21A and the Ruger LCP 2 have

something in common. They were each aimed toward the lady buyer. The Berettas have the flip up barrel so the slide never have to be pulled back, which made it easy for the lady shooter. Just push the side lever and the rear of the barrel popped up. Insert a round of either 22 LR or 25 ACP, whichever one you have , insert the magazine and you are ready to rock. The new Ruger LCP 2 has what they call the Lite Rack, with is a very easy slide to pull back. It can literally be done with your little finger, again aimed at the lady shooters. Both are good guns. The Beretta has pretty much been overcome by the Taurus Pt-22 and Pt-25 which is exactly the same gun with a better lifetime warranty and priced somewhat less. I imagine the Ruger LCP 2 will easily outsell the Beretta or Taurus as it has everything going for it.

That 22 LR should be great for women...

The slide was very easy to work. I can see them doing well for Ruger.

I figure the flip feature precluded the extractor. It works.

I guess it was aimed at women but I find it extremely handy in that I can have it on me at any time even carrying something larger. Plus, I figure with the flip top barrel could use it as a single shot 22 short or LR or magazine failure or whatever. Sites aren’t that bad on it and I got my first rabbit with the PT-22.

Guess my point is those little guns can have more uses than conventional wisdom might say.

Exactly why Ruger will sell a zillion of these

Everyone likes a .22 and it's easy to use and cute. The Colt 1908 of our century? Time will tell.
