Reeder Custom Guns - 45 lc loads

just picked up a old rossi lever action in 45 colt. looking for powder and load advice .have a 255g rfn mould on the way .gun is going to be my truck/atv gun . after hearing about garys incendent with the bear that colleen hit, I want something with enough power to be able to put down a injured elk, bear or cow. i have 2400, ww296,aa#5,aa#7 and trail boss on hand. thanks

Not one of the powders you had listed, but 15.0 gr Blue Dot with that bullet makes a dandy penetrator. About 1200 fps out of a 7.5 revolver. I shoot this load in a S& W revolver, so I know it will be safe in you Rossi rifle. I will check my 50 loads for 45 Colt and see if I have a safe load with one of your powders.

Manual. I shoot a 250 grain truncated flat nose wi a gas check. I'm using w296 and it is a thumper in y Marlin and Vaquero.
