and loaded them. The longest time was spent cutting the brass to proper length and then de-burring/chamfering each piece of brass.

Loaded some with the new Killebrew bullet

and some with the Huffaker bullet

Both are loaded with 12 gr. of 2400 which gives 820 to 870 fps depending on which bullet. The Huffaker bullet being a hollow base bullet records lower velocities than the solid base bullets.

Since he is a levergun guru in one sense. He wrote a classic book on them "Leverguns: An American Heritage" I think he still sells them.

collet crimper. Those really look good, how are you managing that crimp? If you ever get into that powder coating (I suggest this wonderful gray color as more palatable) it would about ruin you. Then you could carry the cartridges in a shirt pocket even.

Slipping those into the chambers, they look greasy, is there some resistance or do they just plop in? Does it get worse with shooting, needing to be cleaned?

using the Lee Collet Crimper for the .45-70 as the basis I believe it was.

Everything chambers fine. I have never run more than a couple hundred at one shooting but they worked OK for me through all that.
