how long I will have to get a shot off. I like single action for shots where I have time to get the shot correctly lined up and I like the double action used single action for the same reason. If you are hunting large dangerous game then use whichever you can get into action the fastest and are most comfortable in shooting. Match caliber to the game when you can but if you can't then hit where you aim and aim for a vital spot. JMHO for what its worth.
