Reeder Custom Guns - Budget AR15

Speaking of rock bottom AR prices, does anyone have any experience with some of the budget friendly AR’s? A few that come to mind: diamondback, bear creek arsenal, radical. Probably a few more, give me your thoughts and recommendations.

twice they got my orders wrong and failed to correct them.
Customer service is severely lacking. Bear Creek Arsenal gets good reviews and I've had great exps with them.

Although I really double check my online order to make certain it’s right. Going through my FFL here I get BCA guns for around $450 (depending on exotica), shipping, tax, dealer fees. That’s not bad since tax is close to 10%.

On the infrequent event I want something he does not stick, my dealer makes out like a bandit. I do all the work, all the exposure, he gets all the cream. We have a wonderful business relationship.

For discussion I have full sized 556 HB, carbines and pistols, in 556, 9mm, 350 and 450. Would be glad to discuss what odd things I’ve found.

Some choose the whole rig, some pick two "halves" to use. That's what I usually do. Shipping is going to run you $20-25 so one order is better than two. The top half can be shipped directly to you BUT if you split the order, and the receiver DOES have to go to the FFL, you've blown $50 on shipping, not as cost effective. Check into the length of gas system you desire. It matters. Also varied rate of barrel twists are available. It matters some too depending on your goals. They have some different options on uppers you need to consider. Side charging, two side charging, conventional, with or no forward assist etc.

MLOCK hand guards you can have regular or "split". The split pinches on the barrel mounting nut and is not the very best for hard recoiling options like the .450 or SOCOM etc. You start hanging stuff off the front and shoot heavy recoil and the MLOCK split will start to walk off some. Just consider things.

This is the fun part. Your dealer may have some experience too, it's fun to plan and scheme. Meter out the fun in stages, milk it!

doing it yourself. That takes tools that the average gun guy doesn';t have. Every single day we get an AR or 2 in where the guy has bought a bunch of parts but can't figure out how to build it or has tried and screwed up the gun.

Buy a gun off the shelf. FORGET all this BS about building it yourself and buying a lower here and an upper there and so on. By the time you do that and then pay someone to fix your fuggups you could have bought a new one off the shelf.Already this morning (it's 10:30 now) we have taken in 2 ARs to put together from guys that bought a bunch of parts that his buddies suggested. Simply go to your local gun shop and buy the gun that feels best to you and you will be happy.

also mention that he never makes more than 15%. Hell, your credit line at the bank is almost that much. With all the big box stores competition these days no gun we sell makes us more than 15%. We sure as hell don't "make out like a bandit".

I paid him for transfers he did for me. No overhead, all profit. Weird stuff no one in their right mind would stock. LOL

shop I know of charges a small fee for transfers so if he got a gun or two in for you or did a transfer or two then he deserved the money he charged. You used to have an FFL. Unless you operated out of your house as one of those "basement bandits" you had a lot of overhead. Hell, just in rent I pay $5000 a month for my 3 units here not counting all the other expenses just to keep the doors open. I have $1500 a day in salaries, so there is always overhead.

and they are affordable. Never had a problem with one. LOL when I get to playing there isn't much left of them LOL.

That means all parts will drop in and fit. What that tells you is all ARs are the same. They were designed that way so an armorer can take a gun that is damaged in battle, drop a few new parts in and put it back into service quick and easy. Some may have a few odd features but for all practical purposes they are all exactly the same. We build custom ARs here and every part that goes into a standard AR can be replaced quick and easy. So pick out whichever one you like and buy it. Forget all the high dollar guns and those that profess to be "the best" or the most accurate etc. If you pay more than $800 you are screwing yourself.

I own 5 of them, all different brands and they are all the same and all shoot the same size group at 100. My favorite is the Armalite AR-15. It is my favorite because it has a smooth forend without all the cluttered up piccatinnys all over it to hang useless shit. It is my favorite but it isn't any better than the other 4. So pick out whichever one you like and buy it. And forget all the hoopla from everyone that the brand they have is the best. Tain't so.
