where does the frame size fall? Very surprising they used a Colt style hammer attached firing pin. I'd have never known had you not photo'd with the hammer back.

Octagon, snazzy!

A few won't appreciate the 8" heavily tapered octagon barrel. But, I like it. It points and balances perfectly thanks to the long 1860 Gripframe.

Barrel gap is appropriately .001". I can see light through it, but my .0015" Feeler Gauge is a no go. Throats are all six very uniform at .401".

Along with the beautiful octagon barrel, there are many other features. Adjustable Sights, Crescent Ejector Rod Handle and comes Electronic Sight Ready.

Time at the bench went well. Groups with 180 grn factory stayed 2" and under. Handloaded 200 grn GT Hollow Point sized at the correct .401" and pushed by Longshot Powder cut those groups in half. I should mention seating bullets long and adjusting powder charge resulted in 200 grn bullets leaving the barrel at an easy 1350 fps.

Weight is nearly exactly the same as my Ruger Bisley Flattop 44 Special.

I'll also add that these chambers are tight. They measure a full .004" tighter than those in my GP100 10mm and only .001" over my Reeder Trail Gun.

My next step will be adding a Fluted 38-40 Cylinder. I'll post here...

I have the opportunity to buy two Hawkeye’s. 38/40-10mm and 32 H&R-32-20. They are NIB. I think he wants to much at 3.3k. I’ll shoot and modify them.

It appears they did a fine job of it. Love that trigger. And the Colt-style hammer. That sort of surprised me. Good looking sixgun.
