Review of the Smolt Python aka Reeder #28...
This gun is simply awesome. I realize not popular on here, but I measure everything before I shoot a revolver. Some theorize that it takes the fun out. I call BS on that as it's half my fun.
When I picked the gun up, I could see the barrel gap was tiny. Starting at .003" on the feeler gauge, I worked my way down. I could barely work the .0015" in and that took some effort.
The throats are a tad loose with the .357" pin gauge, but the .358" is a no go. I find this excellent.
What I found most interesting was the bore. It slugged out at .355" on the nose. That would explain the gun's great accuracy. Betting cast bullets will be superb in this gun.
The action locks up tight with no play in the cylinder. The action has to be experienced, so no description will be provided.
Barrel is fit to the gun with perfection. The finish and grips are typical of the Reeder Crew.
I'll provide a range report when weather allows. But, no doubt, this gun is a score.
