There is lots of tweaking and tuning that goes on. Slap stuff together and you will get slapped. I am rethinking the possibility of the Choate stock managing the recoil. Is it just glued? The tube is an M4 type alloy and the 5-position adjustments are held in place by a little peg held by a little bolt.

Choate Machine & Tool is just down the road. I may go talk to Mr. Garth myself tell him what I'm thinking. lol

This is currently set up on the magnificent hunting rig some friends made possible for Roman to hunt HHC when he was young. His first trip. It is a 16" tapered 7mm-08, the Choate stock is adjustable LOP from 12.75 - 16", very handy at less than 30" taken up. All my kids are using it since it is powerful, flat shooting, and has literally (seriously) NO recoil. However it is thundering loud and has a fiery muzzle flash. Is is available to anyone wanting to use it at a HHC matter of fact. I would be honored to help someone out. It weighs 7 lb. 6 oz. with the classic steel tube 4X Weaver and steel Burris mounts. It helps to hold it steady. I cannot imagine a better truck gun for longer range targets of a less than mass tactical situation. It does not have to be this caliber, but a fine platform.

I may need to simply stick with the Factory Zytel rifle buttstock. BTW also made by Choate for TC, Marlin, Remington, etc. on occasion.

I really liked this TC shotgun forend and may work my way back to another on this build.
