smaller bodied deer but no bigger. The 256 GNR would be sort of a 250 GNR Magnum. The more powerful of the two. If you have larger deer in your area go with the 7 GNR or 30 GNR. For longer range coyote the Raptors would be good ones. At the Y.O. Ranch several of my guys took whitetail deer with either the 240 Raptor or 257 Raptor out to 200 yards or so. And most with one shot. I took a buck and 4 does with my 257 Raptor and all one shot kills. Three of them were at the 175 to 200 yard range. For any of these barrel lengths of 12" would be perfect.
