Given the proposal; the more readily available .475 cal. Components sway my choice also. I have always seen the .475 LB / .500 LB a rehashed .44 / .45 argument. It really does not matter. Whatever floats your boat.

Some level of practicality eventually comes into play. I’d rather be shooting than searching for suitable components on the net. But I could happily manage with either.

I’ve got about everything I could want. BUT if I were to build another it would be a 8” Octagon SA Bisley in .475 LB. Drilled and tapped just in case I decided to go globe trotting.
