Magnum Research has a new 1911 out. This one is called the Desert Eagle 1911G. Not really sure what the G stands for, probably Government. We got a few of them in this morning. The gun is the full government model. It looks good and feels good. Reminds me of the AMT Hardballer of years ago. It's stainless with a few black small parts. The gun is made by BUL in Israel. BUL made a lot of guns 20 years or so ago and they were brought into the states by various companies and under various names. They had guns called the Stinger, Commander, Jet, Target and probably one of two more. This model is the M-5 Standard.

The gun has pretty much everything a shooter could ask for in a 1911. Couple of things I would have added if it were me, like an ambi safety and an extended slide release. The gun has the 3 dot sights and checkered front strap. The grips are the sharp checkered like a lot of guns are coming with these days. Not really my cup of tea but a lot of folks like the really aggressive feel they have.

All in all the gun feels good. They are new so I haven't shot them yet. May try one later. Here is the one I checked out.
