owner of North American Arms and Wayne Baker of Freedom Arms were good friends and both designed what was to become the Freedom Arms model 83 in 454. The 2 friends also had the 2 mini revolvers. When they split up one developed the North American Arms 450 Magnum revolver and Baker continued with his model 83 in 454. Freedom Arms sold the patents to the mini revolvers to North American Arms. There were only a little over 500 of the 450 magnums made. Their cartridge is fairly difficult to make. There were around 100,000 rounds of brass made but who knows where they went. The gun is more of a collector's item then a shooter with prices going up to around $2000 if you can find one.
