Got a 3 screw .357/9mm Blackhawk that I’ve never fell in love with! .357 shoots good but the 9mm just doesn’t get it done! I’m wanting to send it off to Gary for a conversion to .45Colt, .356GNR, .41Mag or any other ideas that you Misfits might be able to help me with! Looking in the 4.5 to 5.5 inch barrel range as it will be a critter protection carry gun while fishing our Kern River banks. Maybe call it the Misfit Carry! Any cool ideas to help me through this HOME SCHOOLING stuff!!!???

Would this have to be a 5-Shot? That's why I was suggesting a 41 Special and 41 Magnum, so the factory cylinders could be used.

thing as too much power. A bear or pit bull can take a bit more to put them down. And a cat, even mortally wounded, will manage to get to you before he dies. My 3 choices would be 44 mag, 41 GNR or 45 Long Colt. They are proven cartridges for what you mentioned.

It really does not matter, all those cal. Are good. .45 Colt too, makes a real light gun.

Those 3-screw OM w/fitted cyl. Are getting rare and worth good money. Even the ragged ones.
