Went to the Range today with the 480 Achilles ... shooting some of John Killebrew's new bullet for the Achilles ..

LEFT - the original Bittner Bullet RIGHT - the Killebrew Bullet

The Killebrew Bullet has deeper grease grooves and more of a taper on the nose. Shooting them today at 870 fps (more or less) the barrel stayed clean with no leading.

I fired these targets sitting at a table, resting my left elbow on my shooting bag.

Somebody needs to paint your bullets, you’d like it.

That were painted red and green. I intended to try some. .22 rounds are just nasty, 1870 technology, still in widespread use. That’s two centuries ago!

thanks for that Jim. I thought I was the only one

that refuses to go all fruity.

I refuse to have my 45 ACP's mistaken for lipstick.

That project sure has provided a lot of entertainment.

Many thanks to Gary for taking it on!

for no other reason than I want one.

I have bought a number of guns due to your writing, Jim. I bought a Marlin 1894 CL .32-20 after reading your article on one. I bought a Winchester Model 71 and a Browning version after reading an article or two you wrote on same. I've wanted a .480 Achilles for years for the same reason. Just because.

Maybe it is time I do something about that.
