As we discussed a couple weeks ago, modern 44-40 use the same bullet diameter as the 44 Magnum. Gary chimed in and correctly pointed out that 44-40 Cylinders could be added to 44 Magnum and 44 Special Revolvers.

I had bought the Uberti Callahan 44 Magnum some years ago. I believe it was the Fall of 2012. More recently, I added the Cimarron Bad Boy (Uberti) 44 Magnum. I decided both should become dual cylinder guns.

This week I took the time to sit and hand fit 44-40 auxiliary cylinders to both. Uberti 44-40 Cylinders come with .431" throats and this works great with the .429" barrels.

Since these same models are available in 45 ACP, I've settled on 21k psi as maximum. This pushes the 220 grn GT Hollow Point at 12-1300 fps.
