Is that the project they did in the magazine?

G&A used to do up wildcat rounds and profile them in the publication. I absolutely loved it. It entailed the thinking and planning, tech details of mechanical adaptation, and finally success on game. You wouldn’t write up a failure. Lol.
One project was a BHP rechambered to a belted 10mm round based on the .224 Wby. Totally nutty idea. It became the 10mm auto or .40 S&W one. Why they didn’t use the .30 Rem. case I’ll never know but whatever.
A neat piece of history there.
yep, 404 Jeffery necked up to .458, a bit more

power than the 458 Win Mag. I remember reading about it but never actually saw a gun chambered in it.

about having a hard time handling my 450 GNR in my Encore pistol shooting a 500 grain bullet at 2000 fps. And PH John Abraham wanted me to get it up to 2100 fps which I am not sure I could handle. They said the 458 Win Mag was a 500 at 2130 fps, so I was right on the edge of the 458 WM power in a 15" pistol. Thankfully I didn't get drawn for the elephant hunt in Zambia where I wanted to use the same gun I took my Cape Buffalo with, just jacked up another 150 fps. I heard it said that God looks out for fools. Maybe that means me in front of a 7 ton elephant with a single shot handgun. But again maybe next year...
But here is the info on the 460 G&A..
