G&A used to do up wildcat rounds and profile them in the publication. I absolutely loved it. It entailed the thinking and planning, tech details of mechanical adaptation, and finally success on game. You wouldn’t write up a failure. Lol.
One project was a BHP rechambered to a belted 10mm round based on the .224 Wby. Totally nutty idea. It became the 10mm auto or .40 S&W one. Why they didn’t use the .30 Rem. case I’ll never know but whatever.
A neat piece of history there.
