Some of you know that I collect Marlins. This one is from 1895. It’s a model 1894 with a 24” round barrel. She is in the .38-40 caliber.
I shot it at 25 yards. I thoroughly checked this thing out and it functioned beautifully. There is some pitting in the barrel. It’s what you would expect in a 125 year old gun. The rear sight is tiny and I cannot see very well the open sight anymore. I will put a period correct tang sight on it after I recondition her. Yes, the value is in a totally unmolested condition. But someone in the past put a finish on the stock and did some cruddy bluing in spots. So, I shoot mine and purposely bought it in this condition so I would have no problems shooting it when I have it reconditioned. Gary is this up you’re alley.

Pictures won’t load.
