the original Taylor Throat. Our bullets are longer and heavier in many cases than they were a few years back, so the Maxi Throat lets the bullet get into the barrel smoothly without hitting jagged edges of the rifling. It is like a funnel that eases the bullet into the rifling. I have yet to see anyone that knows what the 11 degree forcing cone is. I have been told a gun writer wrote that up and his readers accepted it. I have also heard of an 11 degree crown. No idea what that is either.
The Maxi Throat is the first thing the bullet encounters so it needs to be smooth with no jagged edges. The Deep Dish Crown is the last thing the bullet touches so it also needs to be smooth, perfectly round with no jagged edges of the rifling as it leaves the barrel. Those 2 things plus our action job will, in most cases, cut your groups in half.
