Reeder Custom Guns - Precision Cartridge Update

The other day I asked about Precision Cartridge and
"Tits Larue" posted the link to Graf & Sons, the Precision Cartridge distributor. I emailed them asking if the .44 Special load was hard cast or soft. A product specialist emailed me back saying that load was soft cast and definitely would lead the barrel and was a load I should stay away from. Just an FYI for anyone who may be interested, or considering Precision Cartridge.

The 44 Special in it's original velocity range will shoot pure lead if the conditions are right.

Too many variables to post and some could write a book about this.

I've personally pushed some very soft bullets to 1500 fps with great results when the bullet diameter, throats, forcing cone, bore, etc are correct.

Just my opinion, but I'd have to try these for myself to learn. I never cared much for the keyboard ballistic authorities...

I shot a couple boxes i picked up at a show. No problems. Not a heavy load at all. Ive used their rifle ammo in 30 remington and 300 savage. No issues ever. I usually shoot a few jacketed bullets behond every dozen or eighteen lead bullets anyway. Bores clean aa can be.

No problem for me. Lewis lead remover works great if they do lead like crazy. I need more 44 spc brass anyway.

What sixgun you were going to shoot it in, what the barrel cylinder gap was, what was the groove diameter and also the chamber throats diameter and from this he could tell you it was going to lead? Makes absolutely no sense.

for a box of questionable soft lead ammo when you can get a box of good JHPs from a reputable maker for considerably less?

Ive used PC 44sp . No problems.
