The first year, when a person finds a roach or a beetle in their rice they throw the rice out and refuse to eat the rest of the day.

The second year they pick the offending bug or bugs out of the meal and eat without worry.

The third year, if there is no bugs in their food, they get offended and demand to know where their bug is.
