When I was about 12 we had some neighbors that had a bunch of Shetland ponies that were wild as heck
There fencing was very poor, always out and the stud horse would chase the mares around and run them through our electric fence for our wheat pasture cattle. One day I got off the school bus when my dad came sliding up to the house ,yelled at me to get in to go fix some fence, I wasn't really happy about it . He said the damn shetlands were running around again. I suggested let me put some lead in them,he finally agreed,so when we got there the stud was running at about fifty yards from the pickup, dad said bust him and I did.I was using my dad's auto 5 which normally had low brass 6 or 7 shot for birds . The rule was any gun I used had to be loaded when I put in back in the house,or pickup, so I did , all I could find in 12 gauge in the house was a box of 00 buck so I loaded it .At shot the horse rolled up flopped a little and diede, my dad wasn't happy ,we had to tie a chain on to him and drag him to a old trash pit . So the new rule was load the damn guns back with what I found in them , the fixed there fence
