Lot of alpha males on here. Handgun hunters are a pretty exclusive and strongly opinionated group too. Of course we're going to butt heads from time to time. Thank you Gary for this place!

I would recommend a 22LR... maybe. Custom Single Six with one chamber reamed to take 22 mag. That way you can take those long shots... if you need. I hear one could even take a deer with a gun like that...

22 rimfire for deer is illegal in most states. I think for a few years the largest polar bear on record was shot with a 22. He stuck his head in an igloo and an Eskimo woman put a 22 in his eye.
