Hot spots of corona virus are popping up after restrictions are eased by many cities.

Herd immunity

That is likely because the isolation has prevented the herd immunity, which is the only thing that is going to put 19 to rest. Actually developing an effective vaccine is a goal, but there is absolutely NO guarantee that one will ever actually be developed-we’ve been working on one for AIDS for 30+ years, and while we have developed treatments, we’re nowhere closer to a vaccine today than we were in the 90’s or 2000’s.

We have to get back to living life, and living life does not come without risks.

Amen, Sam!!

virus than at the AIDS virus. Way way more labs working on it with much better current technology with 100x the funding. Oh, there will be a vaccine, probably more than one and it ain't going to take long either. Look at it as a GLOBAL Manhattan project. Just look at how far cancer research and treatments have come in just the past 5 years and that is just one of many such medical improvements. This new AI technological movement in the past 5 or so years is solving more problems at a quicker and quicker pace. AIDS never had the same support level and if it did it would have been eradicated like all other heavily supported medical diseases. How many people under 50 today know what Polio is? Just one example. Stay tuned to see the Covid-19 vaccine.

I agree, but no one got AIDS by just

That’s like comparing apples & oranges. Regardless of how one might contract any virus, the fact remains that there is absolutely NO guarantee that a vaccine may ever be developed.

Sam, you are one of the most negative people I know

How about easing off the negative bullshit. The whole country is in a mess and we don't need more negativity.m That doesn't help a thing, especially when you are dead wrong. There will be a vaccine. At least 2 companies are working on one right now.

Negativity is not my intention Gary,

I sincerely HOPE that a vaccine is forthcoming, and soon, regardless of how many companies may be working on one-but despite the government’s ’assurances’ there can be no guaranteed timeline.

Our God-given, Constitutionally protected rights have been virtually suspended, and as others on here have stated, I would rather die by my own choices than have some bureaucrats deciding what’s best for me. I can wear goggles, glove up and wear a mask and drown myself in hand sanitizer, but if I get T-boned on the way to one of the ‘essential’ businesses, I’ll be just as dead.

with mask and gloves the rest of their lives if they so choose. They are only trying to stop those who chose not to. For the greater good!

I'm not so sure about anything the Government says about anything. I prefer my own assessment and research of all available sources to formulate my view. I am sure that I'm done letting them "borrow" my constitutional rights. I played nice for a long time, now I'm personally done. Govt. dependent city folks are going to figure it out for themselves. Don't tread on me.

It's just my opinion, no more right or wrong than anyone else's. Everyone is free to have their own.

Agree and telling the WHO and UN to screw themselves

Is years overdue. It is a sad situation when people get so stupid they need TV Commercials to tell them to wash their hands. Game over...

-- we have no herd anything from flu or pneumonia and we have them every year..did not work in the 1918 flu in the US .same with HIV --etc it is just how many of us older folks are we willing to kill....in the USA we can diminish or cut back on the old folks as to Social Security--we are older less important-- like the zebras at a river-- the young and old become lunch.the rest make it....currently I can not make an EMR call because I am 67
so I just listen to CPR in progress, not breathing diabetic comma-- down in the floor in the yard... and home I set
Until we get some treatment, a vaccine this is not likely to go away-- but I hope it does--

I am not OK with killing the US economy

Because a bureaucrat takes it upon them self to do so, Regardless of the reason. I am not old but at much higher risk than people 30+ years my senior, So believe me when I say... I would rather die free, from my choices than be safe and sheltered being told what I can or can’t do. Your mileage may very and you are entitled to your choices.

Some states reporting "shocking" number of new corona cases as they re-open. States just re-opened (a little) in the last couple of days. Corona incubation period suggests these new cases were infected during lockdown.
