Reeder Custom Guns - 50AE

[image] [image] Since having a 50 Action Express cylinder fit to my 6" FA`s 500WE I`ve been wanting to try it out and I bought a selection of factory ammo cause I have no intention to reload this cartridge. 45acp and 38 Super are the only semi auto rounds I load. Anyway I went to Tioga Ranch last weekend and while all brands of 50AE shot good the 300XTP from Hornady shot real good. An extreme quarter away shot, using the XTP, on an average size boar worked without a hitch.

To “not” load for a caliber I own. It’s strange but difficult for me. Sounds like your plan is perfect. A hunting gun,few rounds here and there. No hassle, you did great!

Roman bought a big DE. It’s not as bad as I thought it was, not as great as some think who have never seen one outside the movies, but it’s ok. It’s just expensive and big, heavy.

and took at large boar with a 44mag and 240gr Hornady FPJ bullets. It was a good time with 4 other guys. Not sure what it's like these days. Back then I did a lot of fishing and archery hunting in that area. I'm about 3 hours south of that place.

Tioga let me know... It would be a great time.... A mini HHC....

close enough to drive to Tioga would be welcome... This is the perfect time... I found that the hardest part of putting something like this together is agreeing on a time so lets kick it around.. I don`t care if its one or ten hunters... I`ll go... my email- jswidryk@comcast.net

Took a ram with my bow! Side bar: I was hunting in westchester co in ny. Had permission to hunt the 500 acre Mattel toy property ,bow only. Damn deer were kicking my butt for a week. I got frustrated walked out of the woods jumped in the truck and headed west and took the ram! Lol

boxes of accurate factory ammo are all I need for any deer or boar in the woods... The 500WE cylinder is always there for anything bigger using handloads that I can put a heavy roll crimp....

Done for my 50 Special Howdah. Although it would be a way to use the bunch of ammo and brass I have from a desert eagle I sold.
Too my son to Tioga over 25 years ago for his first animal.
