1949/1950 Dad started me off early with sixguns. I have always been partial to horses and sixguns since.

I have been digging through a lot of stuff. I like that Remington you have. Nice cap and ball .

My Dad had a gunsmithing business ..

he bought 10 Remington's from James E. Serven for about $10 each. In the 1940's the Remingtons were not worth much unless they were pretty close to perfect.

Some had cracked cylinders and Dad rebarreled and made chamber inserts so .22 rimfires could be fired in them.

He rebuild one or two to .357 Magnum.

His conversions sold pretty well back in the day.

buying Remingtons from J.E.Serven... He wrote a book about Colt handguns if I remember correctly...

Yessir. He wrote books on guns and collecting.
